The story of the Chiara Raimondi Ensemble begins with the passion of singer and bandleader Chiara Raimondi, who brings her own unique compositions to the stage. Her music blends contemporary elements with traditional influences—always in search of her own musical identity and a personal sound. Chiara's musical voice has been shaped by sharing, learning, and traveling, and she draws inspiration from various forms of jazz - from traditional to avant-garde. Yet her roots go even deeper: her cultural background and folkloric influences leave a distinctive mark on her compositions.
In 2017, Chiara Raimondi was invited to participate in the final round of the Hannover Jazz Prize, where she gave an early glimpse of her debut album Sospesa, released in 2019 on the Italian label Dodicilune.
Later, Chiara expanded her artistic expression through an octet project. In this new ensemble, the boundaries between modern jazz and global music begin to blur—two musical currents that deeply shape Chiara’s artistic identity.
The octet presents a repertoire that combines folkloric elements and original compositions, arranged within a modern jazz framework and enriched by the diverse sonic traditions of the band members’ homelands—Italy, Iran, Moldova, and Germany. The musicians embark on a transcultural experiment, exploring stylistic connections and fusions between different musical heritages. In 2024, Chiara released her second album, Klänge der Heimaten (Sounds of Homelands).
